On August 17, 2020 I started to paint a mural for the Delaware Discoveries Trail. I was one of the lucky ones to be chosen for a special state wide project. It took me 4 days, painting 8 hours a day and I had to complete the mural in 1 weeks time. It was one of the most meaningful art projects I have ever completed, and one I will never forget it. It means the world to me that I was able to create a mural for the town of Wyoming, De. I created a piece of art for the town that represents what Wyoming is all about. The countryside, produce, farming, sunflower fields, and the unique architectural buildings of the town were all included. People from all over are now visiting Wyoming and the 9 murals on the trail. It has been a few months since I have created the mural and I can now look back and say how happy I am about this opportunity. I have shared something with the State of Delaware that I love, my passion and love for art. Now for some details!
The hardest part of the mural: measuring the truck to make sure it was symmetrical on the wall. The easiest part of the mural: painting the sunflowers, I love painting flowers! Things I would do differently: make the train a bit bigger or add more sunflowers. My favorite part: The pop of red on the truck and the bright sunflowers. My hopes: That people will continue to visit the mural, take photos and interact, and feel the joy I'm bringing to them through my art. Don't forget to visit the 9 murals on the trail and take a look at all the details on the website. If you visit 4 of the murals and submit photos, you receive a paint pouring kit. So proud of this program and how Delaware is showing the importance of art!
