Lately I have been painting custom home portraits because...people love their homes! I can understand this because people put so much time into making their homes a reflection of themselves. They make it unique, beautiful, and when you look into someone's home, you see all of them. You can see what they love and what is important to them. Every time I paint a home, I feel lucky that they asked me to paint something that means so much to them. To draw one of these homes, takes hours. A lot of time and detail is put into these home portraits. I need to make sure everything is symmetrical, and that it looks like the home. Once I am finished drawing, I can focus on the color and detail I want to show. For example, in the first home I wanted to show all of the stonework on the front of the house. I felt like it was an important part of the home. Adding the landscape around the home brings everything together. I have also painted a few churches as well for wedding gifts. I ended up giving my brother and sister in law a painting of the church, and I will never forget her screaming in excitement at the reception! I have also painted my school, this was a gift for a wonderful nurse who was retiring. I ended up ordering prints of the painting for the staff, many of them wanted a copy of their school. I truly love making these paintings, I feel like an architect and and an artist! If your interested in a home/church/school painting, let me know! I would love to paint a place that means the world to you.
