Why do I and so many people love abstract art? I think it has a lot to do with the movement and simplicity of abstract art. I actually didn't realize how much I would love making abstract pieces until I made my first large painting. It started a while back, with my good friend asking me if I would make her an abstract art piece. At first, I thought this is not the type of art I paint! I was very frustrated with it at first thinking that I didn't know what I was doing. Even when I was painting, I wasn't happy with it. It wasn't until the very last moment, when I stepped away from the painting and looked at it, that I thought, this looks so cool! From there I keep going back to painting abstracts. I do still love painting in the Impressionist style with my more realistic looking subjects but abstract art is for sure a favorite. What I love the most about it, that I cannot do in any other style, is that I am moving everywhere and around the canvas. My body truly moves with the art, and this is how all of my brushstrokes come through. I also love how I think of scene, like a beach, and try to figure out how I can make it simpler and more abstract, not so detailed. Since I am obsessed with colors, they always come through in all of my art, pure and bright colors. I will for sure create many more abstract paintings!
